Interrupt - Talk - Grow - Entertain - Hype

Great teams have two things: A shared language and inside jokes.

To find success on the scoreboard takes much more than just a common playbook and some funny situations, of course. Talent, adequate resources, and a creative game plan help a team look good in the newspaper, but there is so much more than a win-loss column in the story of a team. If at the end of the season, you end on a win and hold up a trophy, that moment is the result of the precious months of hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence by everyone on the team. But anyone familiar with sports knows of teams that were great on paper, though somehow couldn’t finish on a high. The greatness of a team requires more than what is seen on during competition, and that thing can’t be measured by statistics.

This curriculum started out with 52 of the very team building activities I use in my workshops around the country. But, I haven't stopped at 52. As I continue to work with teams, I dd to the list. You get an email when the new activity is added, but you do not get charged again. For one payment, you get all future activities added to this collection!

Every activity comes with a purpose statement, set up and execution ideas, and things to look for to increase learning.

The sections are broken up into the following five themes:

  • Interrupt: games that wake your athletes up and set the mood for training
  • Talk: activities that get your athletes to bond through sharing life experiences
  • Grow: games that teach how to overcome obstacles and communicate
  • Entertain: games to add fun and enthusiasm when training is dragging
  • Hype: games that up the intensity and energy

Flip the Tarp

The purpose of this activity is for the athletes to work together to solve a problem. It is an activity that highlights their ability to accomplish a task through communication and to work on the things they need to become better communicators.

The goal is to flip the tarp without touching the floor or using furniture.

Drop it like a Hula-hoop

The purpose of this activity is for the athletes to work together to complete the task. It is an activity that highlights their ability to communicate properly and accomplish a task.

The goal is to lower the hula hoop to the floor with everyone touching it at all times.

How does it work?

You get immediate access to all the activities, plus the ones that have been added since the original launch date. When a new activity is added, you will get an email about it.

What do you get?

You can download a PDF of all the original activities, or a single worksheet of the activity. Many have videos of me explaining the activity or doing the activity with a team. Also, I add to this course when I find an activity that would help in any of the five sections and let you know when I add it.
